Website navigation is a very important and integral part of any website and it plays an important role in the success of any website. It is really necessary to create the navigation in a way so that visitors feel it easy to find the contents on the website. If navigation is not simple and easy then visitors will find it difficult to search what they are looking for and surely will not visit your website again. So it is very important to create a clean navigation. Here are some quick tips to make a clean, website navigation.

Organize your links according to the importance. The most important links should be on the main part of your website, like on the header. The main categories links should be present on all pages. On clicking a main link the sub links should be visible. Drop down menus are a good option for adding the sub-links. Another option is to use the top of page for main navigation and left portion for the sub links. Always try to make your navigation consistent on all the pages of your website. It means that location and style of navigation must be same on all the pages, otherwise visitors may become confused.

Main links should be visible easily without any scrolling. Text of the links should be clear and easy to understand so that visitor should know that where he will go after clicking a link. For example “contact us” link is clearly telling that this page may contain the contact information of the organization.
