Electronic Stability Control : A safety and cool technology feature
Till recently the driver in the car had to use his skill and judgement to make necessary adjustments to the steering that he is holding, the brakes, and the throttle to control his car and avoid accidents. But, in the last few years, we have seen automatic stability control installed in the cars that are being manufactured today.
Electronic stability control in a car, which reduces the speed of the car by the correct application of the brakes to one more wheels to avoid a skid, has been in vogue for quite some time. This was available previously with most of the luxury cars, such as Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
As an example of what it does, let us take the instance when you are about to enter the highway entrance, and you are on the ramp. It has been drizzling and you are late, and you have been maintaining a good speed. You will amazingly find that the engine power suddenly slacken, though you have not relaxed on your accelerator, and this slowed down the car. You will feel urged to accelerate, ad even if you do, the car does not pick up.
This is all done by your car’s electronic stability system. You have been traveling too fast in the poorly lit damp ramp, and the electronic stability system in your car intervened to bring the car into a safe speed.
