What are advanced frontal air bags

February 6th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Advanced frontal air-bags have been designed to protect the occupants of a car from serious injuries owing to a serious accident. The design is an advanced feature of the present frontal air bags, which is more effective in reducing air bag induced injuries. The previous version has proved to have bad effect on adults and children in the car, typically when the occupants have been sitting without the seat belts on. Without having the seat belt on the occupant in a car may be in leaning out of position, and while sliding forward during a car crash impact, the injury doe to frontal air bags have been found to be critical.

Advanced frontal air bags reduce the risk of serious injury in two ways:

1.     When the occupant is out of position or leaning forward, the system shuts off the air bag.

2.     The frontal air bag does not inflate fully.

There are some vehicles which are fitted with both the advanced frontal and the side airbags, which provide greater safety to serious car accidents. While the frontal air bag saves serious injuries of the occupants from frontal car impacts, the side air bags protects the passengers from side impacts.
