Should you place Adsense on affiliate sites? How do you find out?

You need to test by yourself, if by placing Adsense on your affiliate site makes any sense for you. As it is Adsense on affiliate sites is a bit tricky. Apparently, by doing this, you are giving up earnings of $10, $20, or $30 from your sale just for a $1 click. Some people use Adsense on their article site. If you are selling shoes and you have an affiliate site, it is quite natural that you would be having some articles related to the product to bring traffic to your site. These articles would be all related to shoes, for example, “getting good leather shoes”, or “finding a shoe repair shop”. These are considered to be excellent spots for your Adense to appear.

Some people have found that, Adsense on affiliate sales site pages has the lowest CTR. Tests on such pages, with and without Adsense have shown that, there was noticeable difference in affiliate sales. Placing a combination of Adsense and affiliate links work better if your site carries diverse topics, and not restricted to one or two related products. If your affiliate site attracts international visitors, it may be a good idea to place Adsense ads on that site. Since Google use advertisement displays based on the geographic location of the website visitors, there is every possibility of generating profit from those countries, which could not be done without static affiliate links.

In order to get a substantial advantage out of affiliate and Adsense ads, your approach for these two should always be different. This would mean that for Adsense you are looking for as much ‘clicks’ that you can get, and as for affiliate your goal is generating sales. For example, 1,000 clicks on your affiliate link do not pay you much unless they convert, but on the other hand, 1,000 clicks on your Adsense bring in revenue for you.
